Beginning in September of 2021, I started working at the Campus Centers of Emerson College as a Production Assistant and Operations Assistant. Here I will outline some of my listed job responsibilities.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain an approachable and professional demeanor when on shift or otherwise representing the Campus Centers or SEAL.
- Manage spaces and events within the Campus Centers in accordance with College policies and the Campus Centers’ guiding principles.
- Assume responsibility for the spaces and equipment managed by the Campus Centers to ensure proper use and functionality.
- Work in conjunction with campus partners, including but not limited to Facilities, ECPD, Media Services, Catering, SEAL, and others, to provide support to our community and maintain our spaces.
- Enforce Campus Centers and Emerson College policies and report any incidents to the supervisors as necessary.
- Attend all training sessions and mandatory staff meetings.
- Complete all duties as outlined within your job descriptions and as assigned by the Campus Centers administration.
- All Campus Centers employees are expected to remain in good judicial standing with Emerson College. Employees must notify the Campus Center administration of any changes.
In my operations position, I work at a desk in our two campus centers and keep track of reservations and who is using the building. As a production assistant, I work closely with a specific event and make sure that all of their needs and setup requirements are met as well as facilitating the event itself.
As of October 2022, I have been promoted to Operations Supervisor of the Campus Centers which means that instead of actively working at the desk, I manage the shifts and our employees as well as handle other administrative tasks relating to the operations desks. Attached below is my job description for the position of Operations Supervisor:
