Role in the Production: Assistant Stage Manager.
My responsibilities in this production included running rehearsals while the Stage Manager was in meetings or in other rehearsals (we had many running at the same time), keeping track of the changes we made to the music tracks, & running the rehearsal tracks. Since this was a production that we traveled with to Shenandoah University, I also helped rebuild the set and preset props for our performance out of town. During the run of the performance, I ASM’d stage right on headset, communicating with the SM.
Synopsis
In this musical, set at the dawn of the 1990s, a group of New Yorkers struggle with their careers, love lives and the effects of the AIDS epidemic on their community. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, and Roger, an HIV-positive musician, scramble for money to pay rent to their landlord and former roommate, Benny. Meanwhile, their friend Tom, a professor, has fallen for Angel, who is slowly dying of AIDS.
